Unidad de Rescate

La Comandos Rescue and recovery unit are experts in patient extractions in case of motor vehicle accidents. Their experience is shown in this extrication simulation of a make believe pacient trapped inside a van. These volunteers dedicate many hours of practice in perfecting their skills with jaws of life, and other equipment, while keeping the patient as calm as possible while talking to them and communicating every move they are doing in order to enhance security and trust in the EMTs.

Care is taken to use a backboard and neck brace to assure cranial and spinal stabilization to prevent further damage. CDS uses simulated excercises like this to be ready for real Motor Vehicle Accidents that are very prominent on the streets of urban San Salvador.

Hello, I am president of International Rescue Unit without borders, Global Mission, of the Dominican Republic, We are a non profit that are looking for training from your group in all areas that you train. We are looking for all trainings that you offer.

I want to know if you have extrication equipment and how did you get it, another question is if you guys are the green cross, because thats what they are called here in Mexico.

Yes we have extrication equipment, we have a light duty (Lukas) and a heavy duty (Hurst), and various support tools both manual and hydraulic, the first was purchased new from Germany through a distributor here in El Salvador and the second, a grant was awarded from Fire & Rescue Department of Fairfax County, Va, USA where our Rescue Unit Chief was trained, the rest of the equipment have been donations from local businesses and efforts of our institution and members of UDR, with respect to whether we are connected with the Green Cross of Mexico, or Green Cross in El Salvador the answer is NO, this year we celebrate 50 years of existence and we were created by a group of Red Cross ex-members from the beginning, we were legally Comandos De Salvamento but because of our emblem of the cross the people in El Salvador called us as “Green Cross”, it was until 1980 when a group of members of comandos separated from us and created the seperate organization as Salvadoran Green Cross, I do not know if they have any relationship with the Mexican Green Cross, but we do not (as comandos).
