Basic First Aid Course for Journalists

This post is also available in: Spanish

News reporters, photojournalists and communications students participated in “The first basic first aid course for journalists” taught by instructor Luis Colatto, the director of our EMS school. The journalists were instructed on how to do CPR, secure and transfer patients, fracture stabilization, control of bleeding and other basic first aid techniques. The activity takes place within the framework of our 50th year anniversary.(1960-2010). Comandos will offer a high angle vertical rescue training in January 2011 to prepare journalists with basic knowledge of these circumstances because they are usually the first to arrive to accident scenes or natural tragedies.

Comandos de Salvamento has had a long lasting relationship with the Salvadoran Press. Our role is to care for the sick for injured, while their role is to cover news events so that Salvadorans have access to information fast. At times, we are there for eachother depending onthe circumstance as seen in this entry. Fotos: CDS
