This last Friday, Comandos de Salvamento evacuated civilians in downtown San Salvador when street vendors started to protest. Most of those helped were the elderly and children that got trapped between the UMO (Unidad Mantenimiento de Orden)-riot police, and street vendors armed with rocks. EMS workers also attended to protesters that were affected by rubber bullets shot by UMO. Comando de Salvamento ambulances stayed within the downtown zone of conflict in order to be ready for emergencies and maintain constant vigilance. Fotos: CDS
