Some 80 residents of the Peña Partida community, most of them manual laborers and fishermen will be working as volunteers of Comandos de Salvamento at the main Salvadoran Beaches for Holy Week vacations to attend to emergencies and prevent drownings. The volunteers train two hours a day doing rigorous endurance exercises and simulated shallow and deep water rescues in order to be prepared for thousands of Salvadorans that visit the pacific coast and tourist destinations. These trainings take place at the Obispo Beach in La Libertad. Photos: CDS/Francisco Campos
