From the 7th to the 11th of May, Comandos de Salvamento participated in an international conferrence at the Sheraton hotel on Disaster Management. Many state agencies participated including The Salvadoran Army, Airforce, Civil Protection, Red and Green Cross, National Firefighters and Police, Department of Health, and the Ministry of International Relations. Other groups included the U.S. Army, FEMA, and Firefighters and Police from Conway New Hampshire.  All parties exchanged information on their own protocols and incident command organization including the GIS, Geography Information System. Everyone had the opportunity to educate others on the mission and history of the role their agencies have during natural disasters.

CDS then invited representatives from each U.S. agency to the main base in San Salvador in order to meet our team and take a tour. Videos and presentations were given in order to exchange knowledge. Army members  of Southern Command and the Conway Fire Dept were showed first hand how EMS and Rescue services are rendered even though the CDS has scarce economic support. CDS are thankful to have welcomed all reps to our humble headquarters in San Salvador and look forward to possible future collaborations.
