Comandos de Salvamento rescuers demonstrate the evacuation of an injured person.

Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador participated in the nationwide earthquake drill coordinated by the Protección Civil System, as part of the measures that must be taken in the event of a stronger earthquake, such as those in 1986 and the two in 2001.

Various entities that are part of Protección Civil formed brigades and coordinated evacuations at the various State institutions, with the goal of teaching employees and members of the public to evacuate buildings calmly in order to prevent further tragedies.

During the last few weeks, a swarm of seismic movements was felt in the capital city, as well as in other departamentos, causing alarm among the population. Therefore, Protección Civil, together with first-response organizations, prepared a drill to be ready for an earthquake.

Comandos de Salvamento also demonstrated how to evacuate injured people and bring them to safety.
