TRAGEDY ON COMALAPA HIGHWAY

Six people were injured in a traffic accident recorded Friday night at kilometer 13 of the Highway leading from Comalapa to San Salvador, near Santo Tomás.

One of the first vehicles had collided with a tractor-trailer that was parked on the side of the highway, causing the driver of the minibus transporting employees of a company that provides services to the International Airport to collide and lose control, falling into the central ditch.

One of the workers became trapped among the vehicle’s metal panels. The coordinated efforts of Comandos de Salvamento and Cuerpo de Bomberos rescued the victim, who was subsequently taken to a medical center.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador and other emergency-response organizations assisted the remaining passengers and transported them to nearby hospitals.
