Rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador were invited by Capital Mayor Mario Durán to Civil Protection Day.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador was invited by the Mayor of San Salvador, Mario Durán, to the celebration of Civil Protection Day, held every August 12.

Civil Protection was created on August 12, 1949, to provide assistance in cases of disasters. The capital municipality has a specialized team that, in coordination with Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, Cruz Verde Salvadoreña, Cruz Roja, and stretcher bearers, provides the ideal assistance to safeguard people’s lives.

The efforts of Ministries that provide support during the most difficult moments of disasters are added to this, when first-response entities intervene and then conclude the mitigation efforts.

The Mayor of San Salvador, Mario Durán, thanked all the rescue services for the assistance they have provided in cases of natural disasters, which has helped save many lives. He also offered lunch to all the young volunteers who risk their lives every day in the face of any emergency.
