More than 30 young rescuers are taking the Vertical Rescue course.

The Executive Director of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, Roberto Cruz, inaugurated the Vertical Rescue course last weekend, which young volunteers from the country’s various delegations have undertaken, with the sole objective of seeking new members so they can carry out operations in their municipalities specializing in this field.

The rescuers, most of them young people, seek to gain knowledge in Vertical Rescue in order to put it into practice in their municipalities, since providing aid in mountainous areas, ravines, or gorges is vital to saving people’s lives.

Therefore, the young volunteers undertake demanding physical and theoretical tasks during the first weeks of training. Subsequently, the rescuers practice knots and anchors, as well as ascents and descents using the modern equipment now available to the Vertical Rescue Unit of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, thanks to funding from Norwegian Popular Aid, APN, which has provided this support for the training of the new members.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador conducts numerous training sessions so that its volunteers can provide the best emergency service to the Salvadoran population.
