Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador responded to a series of traffic accidents on the night before Christmas, which left more than a dozen people injured.
The first incident occurred on Carretera a Los Chorros, where a tractor-trailer with possible mechanical problems ran over twelve vehicles traveling toward the western part of the country, injuring several occupants of the cars and causing traffic to become jammed in the area for several hours.
Two of them suffered more serious injuries and were taken to an emergency care center, while the others were treated at the scene of the crash by specialized personnel, awaiting the authorities’ arrival to address the damage to their vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Rescue Unit of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador and the Medical Unit assisted José Grande, 48, who was driving his vehicle along Bulevar Venezuela and Calle El Progreso when he lost control of his car and crashed into a tree.
The specialized Vehicle Rescue team of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador used its hydraulic equipment to free the victim, who was trapped among the twisted metal of the vehicle.
Minutes later, Mr. Grande was to be admitted to the emergency room of the central Social Security Hospital.
Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador reports that, due to the increase in traffic accidents, it will maintain forward units equipped with rescue gear and paramedic personnel at strategic points to promptly respond to emergencies that may arise on this Christmas night.
In case of any emergency, you can call 2133-0000 or 911.
