Rescue teams and emergency responders from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador conducted a series of evacuations in the communities of greater San Salvador that were affected by the passage of the powerful storm that struck part of the national territory.

Since the afternoon, brigades inspected the areas and warned the population about possible flooding, such as in the sector of Colonia La Malaga, where many tragedies have occurred.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador deployed its rescuers and emergency responders to assist and evacuate several families who were affected by the flooding and thus bring them to safety.

In addition, roadways were affected after becoming clogged with garbage that people throw into the street, causing heavy traffic that endangered motorists.

Authorities from Protección Civil have issued an alert because rainfall could continue in the coming hours and pose a danger due to the accumulation of water, which weakens walls and vulnerable areas. Therefore, it is urgent that people residing in these areas pay attention and heed evacuation calls issued by the authorities and emergency-response agencies.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador has made its emergency telephone numbers 2133-0000 and 2221-1310 available, as well as 911.
