Mattresses ready to receive evacuees.

One hundred shelters have been enabled nationwide by the Government of President Nayib Bukele, through the Dirección Nacional de Protección Civil, to receive families evacuated from vulnerable areas.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador has assisted in organizing the facilities designated in the country’s Municipios where safe areas have been enabled to house people removed from danger zones.

So far, the country has received heavy rainfall that could cause landslides in the coming hours, as well as rising river and stream levels, so the population is urged to remain alert to prevent any tragedy.

In addition, discharges have been announced at the 15 de septiembre dam due to water accumulation, so nearby residents are urged to remain alert.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador is keeping its personnel on alert, as requested by Executive Director Roberto Cruz, who hopes to mobilize volunteers in areas that may be affected by the effects of Tropical Storm Pilar, which is affecting the entire national territory.
