This morning, representatives of the Salvadoreños Unidos organization, based in Houston, Texas, delivered an important donation to Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, consisting of shirts and first-aid kits for the year-end holiday season.
Edith Castro, a representative of the organization, stated that the donation was made possible thanks to the support of compatriots who saw fit to help the young volunteers of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, who dedicate their free time to providing humanitarian and emergency services to Salvadorans.
Elmer Castro also noted that the Salvadoreños Unidos organization, which recently completed one year of work in the United States, came to the country to determine which organization could be provided assistance. Thanks to the transparency with which Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador operates, they decided to make their first donations.
Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador is a humanitarian organization that provides emergency services and has been assisting the Salvadoran people for 63 years, including during the tragic earthquakes, hurricanes, and the armed conflict that the country experienced in the past.
Thanks to the arduous work of the rescue workers, Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador has been recognized as the anonymous heroes, a distinction that reached the Nobel Peace Prize, whose representatives presented them with a diploma of recognition. The Presidency of the Republic and the Legislative Assembly have also been institutions that recognize the volunteers’ excellent work.
