Marvin Noé Mejía Martínez, 38, is taken by Comandos de Salvamento to Santa Teresa Hospital in Zacatecoluca.

Marvin Noé Mejía Martínez, 38, suffered severe trauma after falling from a mango tree in Cantón Palo Grande Arriba, Zacatecoluca.

Around noon, the PNC alerted the Comandos de Salvamento station in Zacatecoluca about a person who had fallen and was in critical condition, after plunging from a height of approximately 10 meters.

Rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento in Zacatecoluca traveled to the area to attend to the victim. However, PNC personnel were already bringing him in because the area where the incident occurred is difficult to access.

The life partner of Mr. Mejía Martínez, Joselyn Liseth Rivera Álvarez, stated that he was cutting ripe mangoes to sell them and suspects that he became dizzy because he has been picking mangoes for quite some time and this was the first time he had fallen.

Volunteers from Comandos de Salvamento, in Zacatecoluca, provided pre-hospital care and stabilized the victim before he was admitted to Santa Teresa Hospital in Zacatecoluca.

PNC provided initial assistance to the victim due to the difficult terrain.
