Lifeguards from Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador recovered the body of a man who was swept away by a sea current at San Marcelino Beach, in a private area where no aquatic rescue personnel are present.

At around nine-thirty in the morning, 62-year-old Benjamín Campos Estrada was enjoying his vacation at San Marcelino Beach when a current dragged him out to sea. People alerted the lifeguards stationed at the public beach.

However, due to the distance (3 kilometers), the lifeguards could no longer do anything, as the victim showed no vital signs. His body was therefore brought to shore by Comandos de Salvamento lifeguards and a boat, to be handed over to his relatives, who arrived from Ciudad Futura, in San Luis Mariona.

Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador already has its lifeguards stationed at several beaches along the coast, as well as first-aid posts staffed for prehospital care.

On the highways, Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador has units and specialized personnel available to respond to traffic accidents, with hydraulic equipment to intervene in cases involving trapped people.

Prehospital care is provided at first-aid posts located in tourist centers.
