The incident occurred on the night of Holy Saturday, when the man, apparently intoxicated, lost his footing and fell to the bottom of the ravine in Caserío El Rastro, Municipio de Tonacatepeque.
The rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador received support from members of Protección Civil and Cruz Verde to bring the victim to solid ground. He had trauma to his lower limbs, as well as lacerations on various parts of his body.
After a walk of about 30 minutes, the patient was taken to a medical center. However, the patient died inside San Bartolo Hospital in Ilopango due to the severity of the trauma sustained in the fall into the ravine.
