With a colorful parade, Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador celebrated 64 years of work carried out in the country in the areas of emergency response, health, and rescue.

Since its founding in 1960, Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador has been working during the different events the country has experienced, including earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, and armed conflict.

It also responds to traffic and workplace accidents suffered by people day after day, and transports patients to different healthcare centers due to common illnesses, among other causes.

For this occasion, Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador had the support of the INFRAMEN marching band, the Instituto Albert Camus band, the Sacacoyo band, and the different batucada groups, who said they were offering their support to the rescuers who, day after day, risk their lives to save those of others without expecting a reward.

The unconditional support of Ayuda Popular Noruega and the authorities of the World Fire Academy, headquartered in New York, represented by Lieutenant General Juan Gutiérrez, Colonel Nelson Elías Contreras, and Captain Ramona Torres, who attended the anniversary celebration.

Thanks also go to Monsignor Hernán Astudillo of Canada, who in previous years arranged an ambulance for the work of Comandos de Salvamento.

The Board of Directors and Executive Directorate of Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador expressed their special thanks to the young volunteers and delegates from the different branches for their effort and spirit of service in support of the Salvadoran people.
