Around one in the morning, an alert call activated the Rescue Unit and medical ambulance to respond to a traffic accident on kilometer 34 and a half of the Road to El Salvador International Airport, heading South to North.
The rescuers arrived at the scene of the traffic accident, where an ambulance from the Medical Emergency System, SEM, had crashed into a tree located in the center of the road. The victim, identified as Katherine Baños, had become trapped among the twisted metal of the emergency unit and the tree branches.
