Young rescuers practice intravenous therapy.

Twenty-five young rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador participated in training on intravenous therapy and emergency deliveries, provided by highly qualified personnel in the field.

The participants, mostly young people, welcomed the training, which included practice with mannequins to administer intravenous injections, as well as IV fluids in cases where required.

The volunteers applied the knowledge acquired during the course to simulate assisting with a delivery and the expulsion of the placenta, as these are essential skills for every rescuer.

On many occasions, emergency deliveries have had to be assisted inside ambulances or in rural areas that are difficult to access, after which the patients are taken to hospitals for evaluation.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador conducts this training thanks to financial support from Ayuda Popular Noruega, APN, which for several years has provided financial assistance so that young rescuers can receive increasingly better knowledge in the field of prehospital care.
