Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador conducted a ground drill Thursday morning, with the aim of measuring the response time of its rescuers and emergency responders so they can respond to traffic accidents.
The drill took place at the end of bulevar Constitución, at the overpass leading to Quezaltepeque, where the volunteers carried out maneuvers with hydraulic equipment to free supposed victims and other injured people.
Ambulances transported the patients, who were stabilized by emergency medical technicians with the help of emergency responders, to medical centers.
With this activity, Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador once again demonstrated why they are the first to arrive at road accidents, where skill and promptness are required to assist accident victims, especially when people are trapped.
Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador will begin its “Summer 2026” rescue operation next Saturday, March 28, when some one hundred lifeguards will be deployed at the country’s various beaches, along with 68 aid stations installed on the main highways and at tourist centers.
In addition, 60 ambulances and both vertical and vehicle rescue units will be available, with some 1,500 volunteers participating nationwide, providing assistance during emergencies and religious events of the season.
