Eight days after the tragedy of the double earthquake in Venezuela occurred, the members of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, who were called to be part of the humanitarian and search-and-rescue contingent, continue carrying out their duties in that South American country.
The volunteers of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador have taken part in the search for victims in destroyed buildings and beneath the rubble, with each rescuer putting their lives at risk. However, the search for survivors grows shorter each day.
But miracles do exist, since, after eight days, this morning the security guard Hernán Alberto Gil Flores, 44, was rescued, and they managed to bring him to safety after 72 hours of arduous work by rescuers of several nationalities who took turns to achieve the recovery.
Other members of Comandos de Salvamento have been assigned to distribute the food, water, and medicines being taken to those affected by the earthquakes and to hospitals for the treatment of the injured, thanks to President Nayib Bukele.
