During a press conference, the executive director of Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador announced the emergency plan for the August holidays, under which approximately one thousand members will provide volunteer service.
Roberto Cruz, executive director of Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador, stated that from Saturday, August 1, through August 9, first-aid stations will be installed at the fairgrounds, as well as along the various highways, beaches, tourist centers, and recreational parks, with the goal of safeguarding the lives of national and foreign tourists.
He also noted that, during the liturgical events, Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador will deploy approximately 500 rescuers to provide security during the procession of the capital city’s patron saint, the Divine Savior of the World, which leaves the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus headed toward the Metropolitan Cathedral, where the carrying of the urn by 100 volunteers is already traditional.
On the beaches, the lifeguards of Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador will remain vigilant to prevent tragedies caused by drowning.
Rescuers will also be deployed for the traditional Mail and Commerce parades, to be held next Saturday, August 1, and on Monday the 3rd, when ambulances and first-aid stations will be distributed to address any incident during the route of the peace bands and floats.
Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador will deploy its rescuers, emergency responders, nurses, doctors, and nearly 50 ambulances nationwide to respond to emergencies.
