Members of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador were extremely grateful for the gesture by capital Mayor Mario Durán, who, together with his work team, organized an event that brought together hundreds of volunteers from the various organizations as part of the celebration of International Rescuers Day.
With moving words, Mario Durán thanked each of the rescuers present for the noble work they carry out in different situations, including traffic accidents, evacuations in cases of flooding, and treating various ailments suffered by Salvadorans.
And wherever there is a rescuer, there is someone able to provide relief at all times. Roberto Cruz, executive director of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, received a certificate of recognition from the mayor for the work they have carried out over 66 years in service to the Salvadoran people.
Mario Durán presented the Torogoz Medal to two members of Comandos de Salvamento who have remained with the institution and have been outstanding members.
The hundreds of volunteers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, Cruz Verde, Cruz Roja, and Protección Civil in attendance enjoyed food sponsored by the capital municipality.
