This morning, responders from Comandos de Salvamento in El Salvador, Sonsonate section, assisted an army member who nearly lost his life in a traffic accident.

In the incident, a group of soldiers were traveling on the road from Sonsonate to Acajutla, near an educational center, in a pickup truck when they were struck by a dump truck that was apparently traveling at excessive speed and collided with the vehicle in which the army members were traveling.

One of them was unable to jump clear upon impact because the dump truck trapped one of his lower limbs, so the volunteers from Comandos de Salvamento in Sonsonate stabilized him.

The soldier who sustained injuries was identified as Kelvin Renato L. V., 24, who had severe trauma to his right lower limb, making it necessary to take him urgently to Dr. Jorge Mazzini Hospital.
