On Monday afternoon, several families from Comunidad 15 de marzo, located at kilometer 3.5 of Bulevar del Ejército, on the boundaries of San Salvador and Soyapango, experienced moments of anguish as they watched their homes be consumed by fire.

A fire that began in the brush located on the outskirts of the community gained strength due to the winds affecting the country, reaching several homes in the community, whose residents encountered difficulties evacuating.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, Cuerpo de Bomberos Nacionales, and emergency-response organizations intervened promptly to evacuate the families and some of their belongings.

By the end of the afternoon, Bomberos were still extinguishing the flames to prevent the embers from flaring up again.

Comandos de Salvamento de Apopa assisted a family affected by an incipient fire at their home in Colonia Madre Tierra 2, after a short circuit reached a bed in the bedroom.

In Santa Rosa de Lima, La Unión Norte, a fire in the brush endangered the homes of Colonia Contreras, located in Caserío Los Rivas. The prompt intervention brought it under control.

The flames also affected the brush on a plot of land in Cantón Punta Remedio, Residencial Salinitas, in Sonsonate.

In Santa Ana, a fire at an automotive workshop located on Avenida Fray Felipe de Jesús Moraga and 5.ª Calle Poniente, in Santa Ana, left several vehicles affected.

In Colonia El Platanar in El Congo, a brush fire threatened nearby homes.
