MOTHER AND DAUGHTER RUN OVER AND KILLED BY BUS IN APOPA

This afternoon, a woman and her daughter died after being run over by a public transportation bus on kilometer twelve and a half of the Troncal del Norte highway, in Apopa.

The incident occurred at around three-thirty in the afternoon, when the mother and daughter were attempting to cross the Troncal del Norte highway and were run over by a route 109 bus that remained at the scene of the crash.

The approximately five-year-old girl was holding her mother’s hand when the public transportation vehicle ran them over, leaving them nearly 15 meters apart from each other.

Rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento and other emergency-response entities arrived at the scene. However, it was impossible to assist them due to the severity of their injuries, and they died instantly.

The victims’ bodies remained at the scene to be identified by the corresponding authorities.
