Three of the victims suffered severe trauma to their lower limbs.

Around five-thirty this morning, a group of young people traveling in a minibus to their workplace were injured when they collided with the rear of a truck transporting construction materials on the highway from Quezaltepeque to San Salvador.

Units from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador and SEM went to the scene of the accident, where eleven people suffered trauma to various parts of their bodies, some of them with possible fractures to their lower limbs, due to the impact of the collision.

The causes of the traffic accident are unknown at this time, since both vehicles were traveling from north to south toward the Integración roundabout. One version given by an injured woman is that the minibus driver became distracted and, because of the speed, it was impossible to brake in time, causing them to crash into the rear of the cargo truck.

Three ambulances from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador and one from SEM transported the injured people to different healthcare centers in the capital city.

Meanwhile, volunteers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, Ciudad Arce branch, assisted this morning the driver of a motorcycle who was struck by a vehicle on the highway leading from the Claudia Lars Roundabout to San Juan Opico.

The victim was stabilized by Prehospital Care personnel and then transported to a healthcare center due to severe trauma to his lower limbs.
