At around eleven-thirty at night, a call alerted Comandos de Salvamento, due to a multiple-vehicle traffic accident that occurred on Avenida Paleca, in Ciudad Delgado.

Units from Comandos de Salvamento arrived at the scene, where they confirmed that three vehicles had been struck by a garbage collection truck on Avenida Paleca, and one of them was nearly destroyed after being crushed against the gate of a home.

Inside the affected home were two older adults, identified as Marta Rina Vásquez, 74, and Gonzalo Cruz, 71, who were only suffering from nervous shock due to the incident.

Meanwhile, the subject, who was apparently intoxicated, had stolen the garbage collection truck. Its occupants were carrying out their work and were surprised to see the individual start the vehicle and crash it into several cars just a few meters from the scene.

Upon hearing the loud impact, neighbors came out to help the elderly couple, while others, together with municipal employees, apprehended the person responsible to hand him over to the authorities.
