Rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador assisted five people on Saturday night who were attacked by unknown assailants with bladed weapons near Parque Zurita in San Salvador.

The victims—four men and one woman—were socializing when, without saying a word, the criminals arrived and attacked them with bladed weapons, leaving them unable to defend themselves. Units from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador and the Red Cross arrived at the scene to stabilize the victims and take them to medical centers.

Two of them presented complications due to the severity of their injuries, so it was necessary to admit them to the emergency room of Hospital Rosales in San Salvador. Minutes later, it became known that the woman and one of the men had lost their battle.

The other three people are receiving medical care at the same national medical center.

This is the second attack with a bladed weapon handled during the past eight days. The first occurred on Sunday night in Colonia Concepción in San Salvador. In that incident, a couple was attacked by a man who was intoxicated, and he was arrested by the PNC.
