Hundreds of young rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador participate in the procession of the patron saint of the capital’s residents, the Divine Savior of the World, which departed from the Sacred Heart Church and traveled along the capital’s main streets.
Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador distributed its personnel to provide assistance to people who arrived at the liturgical event from the early hours, a tradition of the capital’s residents featuring the transfiguration of the Divine Savior of the World in front of the metropolitan cathedral.
The Catholic Church authorities assign Comandos de Salvamento responsibility for carrying the urn, and on this occasion it was carried from what is now Mercada Hula Hula to the entrance of the Cathedral, where the transfiguration ceremony takes place.
For Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, being able to carry the image of the Divine Savior of the World is an honor and a responsibility to the Catholic faith, since rescuers have performed this act for several years.
