TWO DEAD IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

Comandos de Salvamento were alerted Tuesday morning to a new traffic accident, this time on Constitución Boulevard near the Integración roundabout.

Rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento and other institutions worked to recover the bodies of the two people traveling in a dump truck carrying gravel, which suffered a failure in its braking system, causing the driver to lose control and crash into some trees.

Both people lost their lives after becoming trapped among the truck’s twisted metal. For several minutes, rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento and other entities worked to recover the bodies and hand them over for the legally required identification.

The deceased victims were identified as Edwin Landaverde, the truck’s driver, and his companion, Elmer Rodríguez Nieto.
