Comandos de Salvamento rescuers receive first dose against COVID-19.

Comandos de Salvamento rescuers have begun receiving the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, because they are among the frontline personnel who are always exposed to becoming infected.

Comandos de Salvamento has approximately two thousand volunteers nationwide, and since the pandemic began, they have always provided assistance to the Salvadoran population. During this period, two of its rescuers lost their lives as victims of COVID.

However, despite the limitations they faced as an institution, emergency services were never suspended and continued to be provided 24 hours a day.

They have now begun the vaccination campaign thanks to efforts with the Ministry of Health and the Government of President Nayib Bukele itself, which has provided the first doses for the rescuers.

More than 2,000 volunteers will be vaccinated.
