Comandos de Salvamento rescuers continue searching for a body in Nejapa.

Comandos de Salvamento rescuers are still making efforts to locate the body of Mr. Miguel Maldonado, who was one of the 9 people who lost their lives in the landslide that buried several homes in Cantón Los Angelitos 1 and 2 of Nejapa.

Twenty days after the tragedy, the army, inmates in the trust phase, Bomberos, and Comandos de Salvamento continue the search, as Mr. Miguel Maldonado’s family members hope to locate the body so they can give him a Christian burial.

Documents belonging to this person were found at the place known as El Kínder; however, despite trained dogs being sent to locate bodies, it was impossible to find him.

For the time being, search efforts remain suspended due to the constant rains generated by Hurricane Iota, which weakened into a tropical depression after making landfall in Nicaraguan territory.

The volunteers redouble their efforts.
