Comandos de Salvamento, which is part of the humanitarian aid group sent from El Salvador to Honduras, began loading aircraft with the food packages donated by President Nayib Bukele.
Since the early hours, tired from the journey but with the spirit of service, the nationals loaded the packages onto helicopters that will take the food to those affected in the communities of Bajo de Choloma, an area that remains isolated by flooding caused by the Ulúa River in Honduras.
This afternoon, Comandos de Salvamento rescuers are expected to be deployed to the areas affected by Eta to search for and rescue victims left in the wake of the heavy rains.
In addition, Comandos de Salvamento is providing personnel specialized in swift-water rescue, as well as confined-space rescue.
