270 personnel who are part of Protección Civil, including Comandos de Salvamento, Cruz Verde and Cruz Roja Salvadoreña, Bomberos, the army, and members of FOSALUD, are preparing at the facilities of the Cavalry Regiment while awaiting the results of the PCR tests to which they were subjected before departing for Guatemala and Honduras.

Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele asked the Minister of Government and General Director of Protección Civil, Mario Durán, to select the men and women who will travel to the Central American region to support search-and-rescue efforts for victims left in the wake of Hurricane Eta.

Comandos de Salvamento prepared 30 of its trained personnel, equipped with rapid-water rescue, vertical rescue, and confined-space search-and-rescue equipment.

Young Comandos de Salvamento volunteers who have previously participated in the earthquakes in Ecuador and Mexico, and who already have experience in this type of task, are now at the disposal of the government authorities to fulfill the mission requested by Mr. President Nayib Bukele.

The Salvadoran government has allocated nearly two million food supplies for the Central American brothers and sisters affected by Eta; 24 trucks and 12 trailers carrying food packages for Guatemala and Honduras are already on their way.
