The rescue brigades of Comandos de Salvamento have continued their efforts since last Thursday night, when a landslide buried several homes, leaving 9 people dead so far and hundreds of displaced people.
Comandos de Salvamento has deployed more than one hundred young volunteers every day to support the search and rescue efforts. Despite their physical exhaustion, the rescuers continue working in the impact zone with shovels and pickaxes.
Since early morning, the young volunteers arrive to provide moral and physical support to the grieving families who lost loved ones, as well as assistance at the shelters where the people who managed to reach safety from this unfortunate tragedy are staying.
The help of altruistic individuals and private companies such as Pettenati de Centroamérica, Gas Tomza, and others has made it possible to deliver food, clothing, and medicine to the affected families.
