At least three people have lost their lives by drowning in areas where there is no lifeguard supervision from the various emergency-response organizations.

Despite its limited budget, Comandos de Salvamento has managed to place several lifeguards at the country’s main beaches and tourist centers, standing out in deep-water rescues at beaches such as San Diego, Conchalio, El Majahual, Costa del Sol, La Puntilla, Los Blancos, among others, where tourists who have been swept away by ocean currents have been recovered alive.

On this Saturday of Glory morning, several people were on the verge of losing their lives. One of them was Ana Maribel Morales Linares, 25, originally from Santa Ana, who was rescued at Conchalio Beach; the minor Stephanie Carolina Alvarado, 15, was rescued at San Diego Beach.

In the other tourist areas, Comandos de Salvamento lifeguards participated in several rescues during the early morning hours.
