MAN RESCUED AFTER SPENDING THE NIGHT INSIDE A SEWER

A man walking along bulevar del ejército while intoxicated fell into a sewer approximately eight meters deep at around ten at night.

The person was identified as William Alexander Hernández Martínez, 37, who lost his balance and fell into the sewer, which has no cover.

This morning, a call alerted authorities to the presence of the person trapped at the bottom of the sewer. The subject remained at the bottom for more than nine hours.

A team from the Vertical Rescue Unit of Comandos de Salvamento in El Salvador arrived at the scene to bring the subject to solid ground; he had suffered trauma in the fall.

Comandos de Salvamento and Cuerpo de Bomberos carried out the victim recovery operation. After being stabilized, the victim was taken to a medical center by the SEM ambulance.
