More than one hundred volunteers from Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador carried the urn bearing the image of the Divine Savior of the World, which departed from the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and traveled along the capital’s main thoroughfares.
Comandos de Salvamento also deployed nearly 500 rescuers, who provided security to parishioners gathered along the procession route despite the heavy storm that fell over the Salvadoran capital.
Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador deployed approximately 15 ambulances at strategic points to assist with any emergency in the area.
Rescuers treated several people who suffered headaches and some injuries from falls, but all were treated in the ambulances.
