Dr. Julio Orellana of the Emergency Medical System, SEM, gives a talk on coronavirus management.

The Board of Directors of Comandos de Salvamento has issued instructions for all volunteer personnel to comply with the measures recommended by the central government authorities in response to the red alert ordered by Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, in order to safeguard the health of the people.

In response, Comandos de Salvamento has given a series of talks to its young rescuers, urging them to remain alert for any emergency call while always taking the necessary measures to prevent coronavirus infections.

The authorities of Comandos de Salvamento have stated that protocols must be followed in response to this disease, which has already claimed hundreds of lives on the Asian and European continents.

Therefore, in a suspected case, support must be requested from the Emergency Medical System, SEM, whose personnel have special suits so they can respond and evaluate people showing symptoms of the flu, fever, and body aches, as a safety measure for all their volunteers.

In addition, Comandos de Salvamento have held constant meetings with the Municipal Commissions to coordinate any irregularities and train the population to take the hygiene measures that are very important to apply among the general population.

Finally, Comandos de Salvamento announce the suspension of the aquatic drill that was scheduled for next March 29 at Playa de la Costa del Sol, in compliance with the orders issued by President Nayib Bukele, who ordered the State of Exception in the country.
