The Comandos de Salvamento branches remain on alert due to the constant rains battering the national territory.

From the early hours of this morning, the rains began with landslides and fallen trees that had obstructed the road from Berlín to Alegría. Members of Municipal Protección Civil and Comandos de Salvamento carried out the work of removing the trees to clear the important thoroughfare.

Meanwhile, Comandos de Salvamento of Chinameca checked the flow of the Lempa River at the Cuscatlán bridge, because this is causing flooding problems for the communities located along the riverbanks.

Likewise, Comandos de Salvamento of Tecoluca, in San Vicente, have inspected the channel of the La Bolsa River, which flows into the Bajo Lempa, where hundreds of families suffer the consequences of the opening of the dam and the rising waters during storms and hurricanes.

Comandos de Salvamento has asked the general population to remain alert due to Tropical Depression 2-E, formed off the Pacific coast and causing the rains with the greatest presence in the country’s coastal area and volcanic mountain range.

Therefore, it is necessary to locate the shelters that have already been designated by Protección Civil authorities in the event of an emergency, or call 2133-0000, since the rainy activity could last four days.
