Comandos de Salvamento conducted a search for more people in the Nejapa area, where an avalanche of earth and water swept away several homes and so far has left 9 dead and hundreds of victims.

For the fourth day, volunteers from Comandos de Salvamento, together with members of the Armed Forces and inmates in the trusted phase, once again searched for people who may have lost their lives in the Nejapa landslide.

The efforts and hopes of finding survivors are now nil; however, the search of the affected area continues.

The executive directorate of Comandos de Salvamento has ordered all its bases to remain on alert due to the arrival of Tropical Storm ETA, which is near Nicaragua and Honduras and, according to the National Hurricane Center, could become a Category 2 hurricane.

The yellow alert declared by the Dirección de Protección Civil has reached the headquarters of Comandos de Salvamento, which has ordered all its volunteers to remain attentive to the alert call in order to activate the rescue brigades.
