Authorities from Comandos de Salvamento, together with one of their sponsors, Big Agua, held a press conference where they announced the emergency plan that will be carried out during the Holy Week season, which has been named “Plan Verano 2021.”

Comandos de Salvamento will assign its young volunteers—including doctors, paramedics, rescuers, lifeguards, emergency responders, and nurses—to the country’s main beaches and tourist centers, with the aim of providing pre-hospital assistance in the event of an emergency.

The 29 branches operated by Comandos de Salvamento will be active starting this Saturday, March 28, and their plan will conclude next Sunday, April 4. Their units will be deployed along the main highways leading to the country’s beaches and tourist centers, with the aim of providing better assistance in the event of accidents.

In addition, vehicle rescue units will be deployed with personnel specialized in operating hydraulic equipment to free people trapped in traffic accidents.

Comandos de Salvamento will also assign 70 lifeguards to the main beaches and swimming areas with the sole objective of preventing deaths by drowning; therefore, national and foreign tourists are asked to follow the lifeguards’ recommendations.

Comandos de Salvamento and its “Plan Verano 2021” wish you happy holidays and remind you to keep the emergency numbers close at hand.
