Twelve women who founded an organization that helps the neediest people in Latin America embarked this time on a journey to El Salvador.

Loaded with suitcases and many toys for children from low-income families in the Municipio of Alegría, Usulután, Successful Women from New York were supported by Comandos de Salvamento, which provides humanitarian and emergency services in that Municipio. They distributed the gifts to the children, who eagerly awaited their presents.

Successful Women were contacted by Comandos de Salvamento veteran Alexander Serrano, who has lived in North Carolina for many years. David Cruz, a journalist for a local channel in the country, as well as Carlos Lima, who runs a social-aid ministry in the western part of the country, also accompanied the activity.

Seeing more than 200 boys and girls waiting orderly for the visitors was moving, as one of the Successful Women shed tears upon seeing the faces of the children as they came down one by one from the vehicles transporting them.

Gina Bolaños, Founder of Successful Women, thanked Comandos de Salvamento of Alegría for its collaboration and willingness to carry out the activity, which included not only toys but also clothing, piñata breaking, and refreshments for those attending.

Representatives of the Communities that attended the event thanked Successful Women from New York for the noble gesture, as did Roberto Márquez, Delegate of Comandos de Salvamento of Alegría, who especially expressed his thanks to the twelve women and to Pepe Bolaños, the only man accompanying the international delegation.
