The other deceased person was the driver of route 109’s minibus, which travels from Quezaltepeque to San Salvador. At kilometer 5.5 of the Northern Trunk Highway, he lost control and crashed into a residence.
The driver of the public transportation unit was identified as Rafael Aquino, approximately 26 years old, while the passenger, who suffered trauma and was taken to Zacamil Hospital as an emergency, was identified as Melvin Geovany Rodríguez, 29.
This morning, rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador assisted motorcyclist Rodrigo Alexander, who was involved in a traffic accident on one of the streets of Colonia Altavista in Ilopango.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador has deployed hundreds of young volunteers since today who will provide emergency and lifeguard services at the country’s various beaches, tourist centers, swimming areas, and highways, where teams with personnel specialized in vertical and vehicle rescue will be stationed.
However, the public is asked to respect speed limits and traffic signs, as well as to follow biosecurity measures and the recommendations of beach lifeguards.
