Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador maintains an alert among its volunteer personnel due to the constant rains affecting the country.
Last night, rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento of Berlín and Alegría worked to remove a tree that fell onto the road leading to Berlín, using chainsaws and Protección Civil personnel.
After midnight, the vehicle passage through the affected area was reopened.
Meanwhile, on the Pan-American Highway at kilometer 41 and a half, another large tree was knocked down by the winds accompanying the rains. Rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento of Ciudad Arce and El Congo worked to clear and reopen the vehicle passage in the area.
Comandos de Salvamento of Quezaltepeque conducted preventive monitoring in the ravines near Villa Linda, where the streets were flooded, prompting a prevention call to families to remain alert for any incident.
El Salvador’s Meteorological Service warns of the presence of a cyclonic circulation and the passage of tropical waves. These phenomena have already begun to cause damage in the national territory. Therefore, residents in vulnerable areas are urged to remain alert and seek shelter in safer areas.
