This morning, Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador assisted a nurse who was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the Carretera Troncal del Norte and Calle 5 de noviembre, in San Salvador.
The healthcare professional was accompanied by a coworker to board a bus that would take them to the Nejapa Intermediate Health Unit, where both provided services when the tragedy occurred.
At around six-thirty in the morning, Ana Elizabeth Martínez de Guardado, Supervising Nurse at the Nejapa Intermediate Health Unit, and a coworker were attempting to cross the roadway when a vehicle struck her.
Responders from Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador arrived at the scene of the incident and, while she still had vital signs, took her to the Social Security Hospital, where minutes later she died.
Ana Elizabeth Martínez de Guardado was a healthcare professional highly appreciated by the people of Nejapa, where for many years she had devoted herself to her work with great dedication.
