One person was killed and several were injured in a series of traffic accidents recorded at various locations across the country over the past weekend and attended by units of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador.
The traffic accident in which Douglas Girón Orantes, 31, lost his life was reported near Redondel Integración early Sunday morning, where the driver of the vehicle was struck by another vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and crash into the drainage ditch.
In addition, four other people were injured in this traffic accident. William Alejandro Mejía, 24, was assisted and taken to a medical facility, while the other three were treated at the scene of the accident.
One of the serious traffic accidents occurred at kilometer 14 of Carretera de Oro, near the Apopa overpass, where two tractor-trailers were involved, leaving four people injured.
The accident caused one of the tractor-trailers to fall into an approximately 7-meter ravine, trapping its driver. Members of the Vehicle Rescue Unit of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador freed the victim so that he could be stabilized and taken to a medical facility.
The collision between the two tractor-trailers also affected the driver of a vehicle and a motorcyclist, who were treated and transported by ambulances from Comandos de Salvamento and SEM.
Meanwhile, in Nejapa, Comandos de Salvamento rescuers arrived at Calle La Portada, where a loader tractor overturned. Three people were traveling in it, and all were injured.
Two of the victims were treated by Comandos de Salvamento volunteers, while a third victim was taken in a private vehicle to a medical center.
Finally, Luis Mario Rivera, 45, was assisted after falling from his motorcycle while avoiding a dog on Calle Antigua a San Salvador, at kilometer 67 in Santa Ana.
The patient had lacerations on his upper limbs and shoulder, so it was necessary to take him to the Social Security hospital.
