Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador and Doctors of the Americas arrived Tuesday morning at Colonia Jardines de Zaragoza and its surrounding areas, in the Municipio of Zaragoza, in the Departamento of La Libertad Este, where they attended to several people who were waiting for their consultation.
Rosa Arrué de Méndez, Health Coordinator of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, provided the procedures for accessing consultations with physicians from the U.S. organization Doctors of the Americas.
One by one, the people who came from low-income communities in the Municipio of Zaragoza waited patiently to be examined by the doctors, who prescribed the medications necessary for their ailments.
Doctors of the Americas, together with Comandos de Salvamento, attended to people presenting symptoms of type II diabetes, respiratory problems, chronic flu, among other conditions.
This has been the fourth outreach conducted by Doctors of the Americas since their arrival in the country last Friday, benefiting nearly 800 people who have received consultations.
Doctors of the Americas have come to the country for approximately twenty years, providing free assistance and medications together with Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, the health professionals will travel to the Municipio of Nejapa, where they will conclude the Humanitarian Mission to El Salvador.
