The two occupants of the dairy-delivery truck were also injured.

This morning, the sirens of the Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador units, together with the Cuerpo de Bomberos, alerted authorities to a tragedy at the Quebrada Seca bridge in San Vicente.

A dairy-transport truck traveling toward the eastern part of the country collided with a trailer traveling from San Miguel to San Salvador, near the Quebrada Seca bridge. The delivery vehicle’s driver lost control and plunged into the ravine.

The dairy-truck driver became trapped among the unit’s twisted metal, while the other two occupants fell to the bottom of the ravine, where they were assisted by first-response organizations.

Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, together with the Cuerpo de Bomberos, used hydraulic equipment to free the driver.

Cruz Roja and Protección Civil personnel stabilized the injured people who were at the bottom of the approximately eight-meter ravine. Both were taken to medical centers in an emergency.

Meanwhile, efforts to free the driver continued for several minutes, resulting in his recovery, and Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador transported him to a hospital because of the trauma he sustained.

One of the victims is taken into a medical center.
